Identified disease of Fennel was umbel blight and pathogen was Alternaria brassicicola.

Bay leaf line CTB003 may be selected against the disease and used for variety release.

Effect of fungicides in controlling alternaria blight of cumin: 2016-17

Foliar spraying of Amister Top (0.1%) for six times at an interval of eight days from disease initiation (flowering stage) decreased Alternaria blight and increased seed yield of cumin. This is the second years result. The trial will be repeated in the next years for further confirmation.

Integrated management of rhizome rot disease of ginger: 2017-18

Rhizome treatment with Ridomil gold (0.25%) before planting + Soil drenching with Bordeaux mixture, first drenching will be done during planting, thereafter, drenching will be continued at 20 days interval starting from 30 DAP upto November.

Identification of onion bulb associated fungi in storage and their management to reduce storage loss: 2017-18

Aspergillus niger was the isolated storage fungi in onion bulbs. Summer varieties viz. BARI Piaz-2, BARI Piaz-3 and BARI Piaz-5 showed around 50% rotted and sprouted bulbs at 20-25 DAI. But winter varieties viz. BARI Piaz-1 and BARI Piaz-4 showed around 50% rotted and sprouted bulbs at 130 DAI. Among the winter varieties, BARI Piaz-4 was more stable to BARI Piaz-1.

Effect of sowing time(s) on disease severity (alternaria blight) and yield of cumin: 2017-18

Seed sowing on 16 November decrease Alternaria blight and increase seed yield of cumin.

Effect of sowing method(s) on disease severity (alternaria blight) and yield of cumin: 2017-18

Line sowing in ridge (Ridge and Furrow method) with two lines or line sowing in ridge (Ridge and Furrow method) with three lines is suitable for cumin cultiation.

Management of alternaria leaf and umbel blight of dill: 2018-19

Seed treatment and five times foliar spraying at an interval of 7 days from flowering stage with Amistar Top 325 SC (0.1%) or Rovral 50 WP (0.2%) or Secure 600 WG (0.15%) significantly decreased Alternaria leaf and umbel blight and increased seed yield of Dill.

Management of choanephora blight of chilli: 2018-19

Five times spraying with Amistar Top 325 SC (0.1%) or Trichoderma (0.5%) or Autostin (0.2%) at an interval of 10 days resulted the lowest disease incidence and highest fresh yield.

Management of tip burn of Garlic

Amistar Top @ 1 ml/L water showed lowest tip burn incidence of Garlic.

31.  Works for Technology Transfer:

 

01.

Enhance economic development of the farmers through appropriate high yielding technologies by practical demonstration, training. Maintain strong Extension-Research linkages for economic development of the farmer through developing problem solving and high yielding technologies, through its transfer and feedback. About 20-25% of my working time is invested for the above purpose. Also make liaison with other government and NGOs for effective communication for sustainable Agricultural development (Technology and economic development).

02.

Prepared of Poster on Research experiments for technology transfer.

03.

Establish a good linkage with the extension personnel and non-government organisations (NGOs) for development activities.

04.

Participate in different development meetings with the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), BADC and other NGOs for planning, evaluating and execution of research work and Agriculture extension activities.

05.

Participate in different “Agricultural Fairs” for dissemination of technologies.

06.

Actively participated with different programs of Intercooperation (IC), Bogura.

07.

Conducted field days/farm days on developed technologies for farmers with DAE and Non-Govt. organizations (NGOs).

Organised demonstration trials, field days and farmers’ rally to motivate different levels of farmers to accept new technologies developed by the research institutes.

Conduct farmers training program on developed technologies organized by BARI/DAE/ RDA/BADC/Seed Marketing Department etc. Training materials (handout, leaf lets etc.) regarding this purpose also develop and distribute.

Carry out CASE STUDY for identification of innovative knowledge for strengthening research activities for Disease Management and cultivation of different crops .

Conduct group meetings with the farmers for exchange of ideas and views for problems identification and to find out the scope and opportunity areas for development of pragmatic research program and technologies.
